Bring home a piece of Odisha's living textile heritage with this stunning Orange Ikat Dobby Pasapali fabric from Nuapatna — a weaving tradition dating back to the 12th century AD, historically woven for the sacred rituals of Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri.
Nuapatna is Odisha's single largest handloom cluster, home to over 10,000 skilled weavers and nearly 6,000 looms, specializing in the intricate art of single ikat (bandha) weaving. This piece showcases the celebrated Dobby Pasapali design — fine silver dobby "buti" lines running throughout the fabric, combined with the traditional Pasapali pattern, in a rich orange-maroon-white palette.
How it's made: The tie-dye (bandha) is done by hand for hundreds of metres at a time by two to three weavers together, with painstaking mathematical precision. The pre-dyed warp threads are then set on the loom with white weft threads, producing extended, evenly patterned yardage — bringing authentic handloom artistry to you at an accessible price.
Woven from pure mercerised cotton, 100 count, this fabric has a soft sheen, smooth hand-feel, and excellent drape — ideal for sarees, dresses, dupattas, and home furnishing projects.
